Hotel Saturno Fonte Pura has a thermal spring with extraordinary beneficial characteristics. The water flowing in our thermal pools maintains a constant temperature of around 37.5°. The continuous flow allows for a regular exchange of water throughout the day. The thermal water in our facility cures various skin problems, causes a natural exfoliating pelling and a deep antiseptic cleansing action, and acts as a vasodilator on the cardio-circulatory and respiratory system, reducing blood pressure. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory on the osteoarticular apparatus. Inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis can benefit from thermal cures mainly in the form of balneotherapy and less often in the form of mud baths. Thermal cures can be a therapeutic alternative for psoriasis and can be interspersed with other medical therapies or used in combination. In general, considerable improvement can be achieved with thermal cures alone in mild and moderate forms of psoriasis, while less conspicuous results will occur in more extensive and severe forms of the disease.

Our thermal waters for the treatment of psoriasis
In collaboration with the University of Pavia, we conducted a study on the efficacy, as an adjuvant, of the Saturnia waters in dermatological pathologies and in particular in cases of Psoriasis.
This study was also evaluated by the Ministry of Health, which confirmed the effectiveness of bathing in our waters for the aforementioned pathologies.

These waters, rich in sulphur and other trace elements dispersed in a balance that only Nature can provide, can also be used therapeutically in other pathologies with specific methods.
Let us recall what effect contact with the skin creates, the following mechanisms are triggered: antiphlogistic, anti-oedemigenous and antiseptic of which it is easy to foresee the benefits on the patient's skin, but that is not all because a temporary hypersecretion action is added to the mucous membranes (aerosol and irrigations), with evident drainage and intracellular cleansing that leads to a decrease in thickness and increase in elasticity of the treated mucosa.
The main benefit that patients can enjoy is the extension of the period of non-use of the usual drugs known to be invasive due to their side effects.
For dermatological conditions, daily baths for a period of 7 to 14 days would be ideal.
To complement the thermal bath therapy, the facility offers a special cream made with thermal water and added natural essential oils, which, with constant application, keeps the skin elastic and clean, greatly limiting the formation of scales on the skin and the discomfort caused by any itching.
